College and University Counseling

Beginning in the 9th grade, students plan with the college counselor to fulfill their graduation requirements from high school and also the entrance requirements for universities abroad. As students render the road map for their future, they set milestones and look at ways of achieving their long-term goals. The college counselor meets regularly with students and consults their teachers to determine student needs, progress, and improvements to ensure each student’s future success.

Students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades work closely with the counselor to focus on the academic programs needed for their college and career choices. Various college and university admission resources, as well as personnel, are brought in to help students understand the unique qualities of each target school. Advice on extra-curricular activities, and the preparation for exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, AP, PSAT, SAT, and ACT, are also important discussion topics offered by the counselor throughout the school year. During the application process, students are counseled to understand the importance of clarity and accuracy, thus, making sure they are able to complete and deliver the applications promptly.

The ultimate goal for the college counselor is to help students identify the universities that will fit their individual personalities, talents, and interests, while ensuring they achieve the academic and emotional preparation necessary to transition to a challenging university environment.
